This place is tucked in the corner of a shopping center off of jones and 1960 and let me tell you something ... this place is a hidden gem..... the food is amazing, the whole chicken is delicious with the rice and the beans .... But on the weekends I usually go for the carnitas or barbacoa or the biria.... This place always hit, they are always attentive and quick to get you in and out in my opinion the service is always superb.... And the food is my go to on the weekend when I don't feel like making breakfast but I'm too lazy to actually dine in. They sell meat by the lb or 1/2 lb as well... they have sides and make fresh tortillas... corn, wheat, and flour tortillas always fresh and steamy..... oh and the meat is so tender. The salsa is to die for.... I usually don't give the 5 stars but the place always gets it right

I don't mean to Reyna on your parade, but this Barbacoa is probably better than yours. Pretty incredible Barbacoa and while the service is in great the prices are excellent and the food is otherworldly and you can't really get much better than that, so it's five stars all the way from us. Honestly, Barbi is a big fan of Barbacoa and a very harsh judge of it, and for her to give five stars is a shock... so you know what you're getting is great.

Ordered 1/2 lb of barbacoa and carnitas and a lb of corn & flour tortillas. The corntortillas we fresh and warm and the beef and pork were lean. Flour tortillas were not warm and never stood a chance next to the steamy corn tortillas so I haven't even tried them yet. The meats, IMO were lightly salted, flavorful, not . but the green sauce made it nice. The barbacoa looked to me to be from a shoulder cut not the greasier but more flavorful cheeks. This is my personal preference these days anyway so no points off from me. Green sauce was a little different from what I expected but I really liked the change. I was expecting the kind of green sauce made by blending boiled jalapeños, garlic, salt and a little oil. This sauce was similar but the jalapeños were minced fresh or maybe just blanched. Either way the green sauce had a light fresh taste I enjoyed.
